In order to achieve its tasks the French Committee of the Blue Shield has decided to split the work within a number of Working Groups, according to its main themes of interest.

• * Disaster Emergency Planning, focusing on prevention : writing of disaster plans and hierarchical organisation of cultural items, setting up of a model for training people susceptible to be called for and intervene in case of disasters.
• * Communication : creation and updating of CFBB website, elaboration of a CFBB presentation folder, weekly press review.
• * Intervention Emergency Units : has merged with Disaster Emergency Planning  to jointly elaborate a training model for interveners.
• * Disaster Memory : sending of a questionnaire to keep track of former disasters and elaboration of a data base to keep track of former disasters in  order to try and avoid or mitigate as much as possible future disasters.
• * Heritage and Conflicts : for the protection of monuments susceptible to receive protection  under the Hague Convention.
