The French Committee of the Blue Shield has established statutes and rules of procedures. It is managed by a President, assisted in its task by three Vice-Presidents, a Secretary General and a Treasurer who form the Governing Board. The President and the three Vice-Presidents are chosen among the representatives of the four constitutive NGOs (ICA, ICOM, ICOMOS and IFLA). A Council composed of 21 elected and designated members holds two yearly meetings to discuss  the activities and policy of the Committee and decide on its strategy. CFBB is hosted by the National Archives in Paris.
